I can describe the latest release from Jazz sensation John Mclaughlin for you with just one word Outstanding!

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce thats exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it’s own.

Industrial Zen has a pleasantly varied, mix of 8 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

If youre a John Mclaughlin fan, or just a fan of Jazz music this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

While this entire CD is outstanding some of my favorites are track 2 - New Blues Old Bruise, track 5 - To Bop Or Not To Be, and track 8 - Mother Nature

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - For Jaco. Its a great track!

Dont feel bad. You’re not alone. Thousand upon thousands of frustrated piano students long to understand the “mystery” of creating music on this fantastic instrument only to be let down.

They work so hard learning note reading that they miss the most important aspect - understanding how music works! Guitarists don’t have this problem. They jump into chords right away and are satisfied immediately.

And you will join the ranks of creative people who get it. They know that melody and harmony make music. They get the harmony part first (chord understanding) and then the melody is easy to play!

Of course, there are other aspects of music making that a student must understand if he or she is interested in making music. But by starting with chords, the piano student has quite an advantage over their note reading counterparts.

Using blues backing tracks is an important aspect of playing blues lead guitar. Blues is considered to be one of the origins of jazz music and you will find some influence of blues even in contemporary jazz. Most of the blues music and the ones used in common blues backing tracks are pentatonic scales and the mixolydian scales. These scales can be used in rock too and hence the ones used for blues are enhanced with the blues notes. If you understand the basic of the blue notes then you will be able to improvise over blues backing tracks with ease. Basically, blue notes use a drop in the pitch of the 3rd, 5th and 7th of the major scale. If you hear a professional talk about a blues scale then what they really mean is the pentatonic minor scale with a blue note like b5.

There are many people who jam to blues backing tracks in the C key and the chords used could be C, C7, G7, and F7. If th tracks are meant for a solo then the Am pentatonic scale will be rather useful and perfect to a certain degree. Some of the other options of blues guitar backing tracks include C-minor pentatonic comprising of the c-blues scale and c-major and Bb major scales in Dorian mode.

Blues Chords and Progression

Here are some characteristics of the blues chords and progression, which will definitely help you to play blues backing tracks effectively:

Most of the blues chord progressions are in a 12 bar form. Apart from this, you will also find 14, 16, 24 or even higher number of bar forms for blues.

The tonic chord in blues progression is basically the dominant 7th chord.

The blues music has been predominantly defined not only as music that focuses on chord changes as well as scales but also on feeling.

There are 3 basic chords in blues and they are all dominant 7th chords.

Some of the blues backing tracks techniques include:

Using hammer-on or even a slide right from b3 to natural 3
Mixing the Mixolydian scale with the dominant blues scale

Mixing scales is probably the best way of enhancing blues backing tracks techniques

In the first part, you need to use the C Mixolydian scale with a natural 3. In the second half of the 2nd bar, you need to use the C-minor pentatonic scale using a flat 3. If you really want to pursue blues backing tracks techniques then the best place to learn is by listening to recording of blues guitarists or legends like BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. You can also listen to some of the compositions of famous jazz guitarists like Kenny Burrell and George Benson.

As many people know Industry Trade Journals in America have gone through a tough time in recent years due to slowing of advertising dollars. In many industries this is the case. Many of us use to get free Industry Trade Journals, yet many have now gone out of business and others are being a little more particular than normal. Some send you questionnaires every three months to make sure you are interested and reading their material. Most companies DO NOT advertise in such trade journals. A few do, mostly for brand name recognition, although in my opinion it is a lot of money considering the much lower costs of Ezines and Internet Advertising. Some believe paper trade journals or Industry Rags as they are often called are waste of advertising money, even worse than attending some under attended trade shows.

As advertising dollars continue to dry up and even with all the media consolidation, there seems to be a very aggressive approach to sales tactics of these salesmen/women and a touch of unnerving arrogance among the editors, publishers and self-important writers. I guess that arrogance goes with the job, however I think it is time for all Industry Journals and media for that matter to come back to Earth, realize their relative value in our society. Everything has an intrinsic value and an actual value and we need Industry Journals to find equilibrium. Why would any company in any industry waste money on such advertising when they are not getting relevant clients from those ads, yet continue to throw good money after bad? Perhaps they themselves want to see their pictures in the ads, perhaps if they advertise they can get the editors to go ahead and do a story on the company? Maybe we have just too big egos in business? What say you? Would you want to buy from a company that blows money on such advertising; money that could be better spent helping the customer succeed with their product? What does this say to the customer about the price they are paying for those goods are services?

It seems many companies are so busy doing things the old way that they rarely update their websites, never advertise in Ezines or bother to survey their customers as to how they discovered them in the first place. There is a time and place for Industry paper journals, yet so many companies use those advertising dollars incorrectly rather than diversifying those funds to get the most bang for their bucks. I pity such companies and am glad to say we are not one of them? Are you?

The Livermore Wine Country is located in San Franciscos East Bay Area approximately 30 miles east of San Francisco. It includes wineries in Livermore, Pleasanton, Sunol, and Castro Valley. This is one of the oldest wine regions in California. The first commercial grapes were planted in the 1840s by Robert Livermore.

If you have not experienced a California wine tour to the Livermore Valley, their wineries are sure to delight you with the quality and variety of their wines. This area has a delightful mixture of large and small wineries waiting for you to explore. Many are only open on weekends, but will make appointments for tasting during the week. Wine tasting is almost always complimentary.

Many of the Livermore wineries are located on or near Tesla Road, a main road south of the city that runs west to east. Its convenient to be able to sample wines from many wineries at one stop. Tesla Vintners provides free tasting. If youre lucky, youll visit on a day when live music is provided as well.

Mitchell Katz Winery, stands on the site where the Ruby Hill Winery was built in 1887 in the town of Pleasanton.Mitchell Katz built his winery here in 1998 using bricks and keystones from the original winery. Stop by and enjoy the beautiful facility and sample their many fine wines.

A small winery located in a wooded area in Castro Valley, Chouinard Vineyards is a fun winery to visit. On Sundays throughout the summer you can listen to San Francisco Bay Area artists performing for Chouinards Music in the Vineyards concert series. 2006 prices are $35 per carload. Chouinard Vineyards has many varietals to sample, including their gold medal winning Port. You wont find a friendlier tasting room.

There are two fantastic places to eat in Livermore. Caf Garre, located at Garre Winery on Tesla Road, makes a terrific lunch stop. There are several techniques that can be used to build an opt-in list ranging from ezine advertising to pay per click advertising. It is generally recognized by internet marketers that by far the best way to build an opt-in list is to generate traffic to your website, and direct visitors to a squeeze page. The squeeze page is a page on your site that is designed specifically to persuade visitors to fill in an opt-in form. If every person who lands on your site lands on your squeeze page first, then every visitor is potentially a member of your list. All you have to do is to persuade them to fill in the form before they leave the page.

There are a number of tricks you can use to achieve this. If you take the view that your squeeze page is a sales page, and design it accordingly, then you will have a far better chance of success. Hence, it should have a title or headline, and a list of benefits for providing the email address. You should also offer something in exchange, such as a free newsletter, email course or even a free ebook.

There is always the danger that somebody will sign up just for the free gift, but thats a chance you take. You have to make sure that your first communication is sufficiently compelling as to persuade even the least interested not to click on the unsubscribe button, and continue to allow you to keep in touch.

In fact your first communication after your visitor has joined your list is the most important of them all. That is what will keep them interested or prompt them to unsubscribe, and you should put a lot of thought into it. Perhaps provide the first part of a regular course on a popular aspect of your niche, for example, or set up a competition with a prize for the ultimate winner. Anything will do that persuades your visitor to stay with you.

Although a squeeze page is the most popular means of building a list, another good way is to offer a product for sale at a discount price, or even free of charge. This could be part of your squeeze page, or even be placed prominently on each of your website pages. There is no reason why you should not offer a free gift on every page in return for the email address.

Recent studies have proven that cocoa is good for you because it contains flavonoids. They are polyphenolic compounds which are a group of chemical substances found in plants. They contain a special type of antioxidant that helps prevent cancer, heart disease, beneficial effects on human health, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, etc. In France there was a study done that a glass of red wine a day may improve a persons chances of having a second heart attack by half. In China they found people drinking tea were half as likely to develop cancer to those not drinking tea. When we consume any food that contains flavonoid our blood increases. The rise in antioxidant levels protects us from damage to blood vessels and the heart. This prevents our DNA from damage and leading to cancer. Foods that contain flavonoids are cocoa, parsley, onion, beans, almonds, coffee, green tea, black tea, red wine, etc. The food that had the strongest antioxidant was cocoa out beating the commonly known tea. The more flavonoid content of cocoa, the higher the antioxidant. Dark chocolate is more concentrated in cocoa content than milk chocolate. Also, white chocolate has no cocoa content. Although we know antioxidants are important for good health, researchers still have been studying the exact daily amount required per person.

As a friendly reminder don’t overdo it on eating chocolates because too much of anything isn’t good for you. You also have to take into consideration of the calories. A small piece of cocoa contains about 50 calories and a majority of candy bars contain about 200. Vegetables and fruits range from 25-80 calories and a serving of green tea has no calories at all. And of course vegetables and fruits also have vitamin, minerals, phytochemicals that protect our health besides the flavonoids it contains. Remember this should not discourage us from eating a mostly plant-based diet that includes lean protein, fruits, and vegetables. So, enjoy and eat your cocoa with moderation so that you can balance a fulfillment of all the good foods out there!

More and more smart business people are finding the value of writing articles and putting them online in order to propel their expert status in their field. From this they develop a clientele base, which will patronize their businesses. One anonymous author has debated the number of articles one individual can write as an actual expert. Is there really a limit? Can it be possible to write 1000 articles on one subject? I believe it is possible and let me tell you why.

I started and founded a mobile car wash business, built it up and then set up franchises in 23 states, it took many years to do this. It took countless hours and along the way I encountered many experiences; each new experience each day could be summarized in a short story or article on the industry. This means after 20 years you could have, if you had kept track of all these experiences over 7300 articles; one for each day. Wow, well that is a lot indeed. Some authors and in particular a new critic of my article writing is, well lets just call him Ed as whoever it really is refuses to identify their true identity.

Now before you say that there is no way to write that many articles, let me point out where you maybe sadly mistaken. First in any business there are countless rules and regulations. Each regulation is many pages. The OSHA laws are actually 47 stories high if you were to stack them on top of one another; page-by-page. If each one were the an article then in fact you might have some

Each foot is 10,000 pages times 8 feet per story times 47 stories is over 3.5 million articles. That my friends is only one agency which governs the business world. What about the environmental laws, building codes, ADA, employment laws? In my car wash business we dealt with laws in 23 states plus the fed. Imagine how many articles one could write? A lot is an understatement.

So what is the upper limits of articles you can write on a business model? I say it is unlimited. It is not is not 50, it is not 500, it is not 1000 and it is not 7300; in fact it could be over 100,000 or half a million. In building my company, we had to write manuals for our franchisees. We could not make them too awfully complex as people would not be able to read them all. When I finished my set of manuals, which is needed to run a mobile car wash business; we had over 1000 pages, each one have a different topic or sub topic. Then I wrote manuals of how to clean boats, aircraft, trucks and concrete. Each over 500 pages; think about how simple the mobile washing business is? If you read books like the E-Myth you will see that the first step to take a business past step one is to systematize it, organize it and set up procedures which can be duplicated. Anyone who has done this in real life could easily write 1000 articles on the subject if they really set their minds to it and committed themselves to write it all down.

Moral of the story: Anyone who limits them selves in life to an artificial barrier of the mind, has in fact limited their potential. Are you limiting yourself? If so, why do you do that? Think about it.
